Fire and Ice Parade!
It was so great to see so many out for the Fire and Ice Parade last night. Thanks to my neighbor Justin Foss and his 30’s era Ford, we were able to put together quite the schnazzy float! We had a wonderful walk through Downtown Cedar Rapids. What a great night!
Before the parade, I had the pleasure of introducing Carly Fiorina at one of her events leading up to the Rising Tide Summit. She and I are both in agreement on the need for accountable spending, and zero-based budgeting. I enjoyed hearing her speak. I also have had the chance to see Governor Chris Christie speak in person, and talk with him about issues important to Iowans.
I love the fact that as Iowans, we get some of the greatest access to the political process of anyone in the country. The people who want to be our next President of the United States are all here on a regular basis, and most are willing to engage with Iowans and hear what we have to say. We are truly lucky to have this kind of access. I encourage you to attend as many events are you are able. It’s so important to educate ourselves as voters so we can make good decisions for our state and country.
This afternoon, I had a chance to get out and knock on some doors. I enjoyed hearing more from voters in District 67 about Ethanol, Education, and the Economy (The three E’s were big today!) If you have an issue you’re passionate about– I’m listening. Send me an email: firstname.lastname@example.org
